Biography

 

Jorinde van den Thillart (1988) was born in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. She started her violinlessons at the age of six and from 2001-2006 she had violinlessons with Mathilde Krabbe. In 2006-2008 she studied with Joyce Tan at the Conservatoire Utrecht in a preparatory course. After several -succesfull- auditions, she decided to study with Theodora Geraets at The Royal Conservatoire The Hague. She graduated in June and is currently studying for her Master of Performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with prof. Boris Brovtsyn.

Jorinde went on tour with several orchestra´s (a.o The Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands) to a.o Italy, England & Scotland, Germany and Poland.
She also participated in several courses such as the ´Young Talend Course Feistritz´ in Austria, the Stift Festival in the Netherlands and ´Mozart macht frei´ in Dresden, Germany. Here Jorinde and her stringquartet played Tchaikovsky´s stringquartet in D major with which they won´The price for the greatest common creative power in music´.
In april 2012 she performed Prokofievs first violinconcerto with orchestra.

Jorinde participated in several masterclasses, with a.o Igor Oistrakh, Ivry Gitlis, Philippe Graffin, Katalin Sebestyen, Suzanna Rabenschlagg, Priya Mitchell and David Frühwirth.
With pianist, Alexander Buskermolen, she received masterclasses from Noam Greenberg, Lex Korff de Gidts, Gerhard Schulz and Kyoko Hashimoto.

Jorinde gives concerts on a regular basis, varying piano- violin duets with chamber music ensembles and several orchestra’s.

Jorinde plays on a violin by ´Gustave Bernardel 1870´, on loan from the National Music Instruments Foundation of the Netherlands.
Her violin bow is a private grant.
